Ann Arbor

A city of about 114,000, Ann Arbor is the seat of Washtenaw County and is located 45 miles west of Detroit. Home to top-ranked University of Michigan, Ann Arbor enjoys many advantages not often found in cities of its size.

Belleville

Belleville, a city of nearly 4,000 people and another 36,000 in the surrounding townships, is located about 15 minutes east of Ann Arbor, along the southern shore of Belleville Lake.

Chelsea

A growing city of about 4,500, Chelsea is located just 15 minutes west of Ann Arbor.  Home to the Purple Rose Theatre, an award-winning Equity stage, and to the Common Grill restaurant, recognized in Gourmet, Chelsea is a southeast Michigan destination.

Dexter

A village of about 4,000 located eight miles west of Ann Arbor, Dexter is the unofficial gateway to the area’s lakes and metroparks.  Dexter’s restaurants and pubs are popular gathering points for those who’ve spent the day engaged in outdoor activity.

Grass Lake

The village of Grass Lake, in eastern Jackson County, is located roughly mid-way between Ann Arbor and Jackson.  Rural in character, Grass Lake has about 1,000 people.  Within minutes of the village are a number of lakes, including Grass Lake itself just blocks from the business district. 

Jackson

Jackson, with a population of about 35,000, is the seat of Jackson County and is located about 40 minutes west of Ann Arbor.  Founded in 1830, Jackson is known as the birthplace of the Republican Party, and was a stop on the Underground Railroad.  Although many Jackson residents work at the variety of businesses and industries located in Jackson, the city is conveniently located to Ann Arbor and Lansing as well.

Manchester

Manchester, a village of 2,200 people, is located in southwestern Washtenaw County, about 30 minutes from Ann Arbor, along the banks of the River Raisin.  Manchester offers pleasant small town living, and features a number of special events through the year, including the renowned Chicken Broil and annual Riverfolk Festival, as well as evening concerts at the gazebo downtown throughout the summer months.

Milan

A growing city of 5,700, Milan straddles the Washtenaw/Monroe County line, providing its residents with ready access to Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Monroe, greater Detroit, and Toledo, Ohio.  Founded in 1831 as an agricultural community, Milan has evolved into a community of small business owners and professionals working in other locations.

Pinckney

Located in southeast Livingston County, the fastest-growing area of Michigan’s fastest-growing county, Pinckney’s population now approaches 2,500.  With quick access to both US-23 and I-96, Ann Arbor, Detroit, Lansing, and Flint are within easy reach of Pinckney residents.

Saline

Saline, with a population of about 9,000, is located just 10 minutes southwest of Ann Arbor.  Founded in 1832, it has an agricultural heritage still visible today, although most of its current residents are professionals working in Saline or in the Ann Arbor and greater Detroit areas.

Whitmore Lake

Whitmore Lake is an unincorporated municipality straddling the Washtenaw/Livingston County line and affording its residents convenient access to Ann Arbor, Detroit, Lansing, and Flint.  Many of Whitmore Lake’s residents enjoy year-round lakefront living along the shores of Whitmore Lake and adjacent Horseshoe Lake.

Ypsilanti

Ypsilanti, and adjacent Ypsilanti Township, with a combined population of about 74,000, are located on Ann Arbor's eastern border. Ypsilanti is home to Eastern Michigan University, founded in 1849 as Michigan State Normal School; EMU now enrolls about 24,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
